write christmas WINNERS

THIS IS IT YALL.

Two weeks and a whole lot of words later, we have the winners for Write Christmas!

I’m not exaggerating when I say each and every entry gave me sooo much joy. It’s so neat to see your actual writing when all that we usually see is blog posts. Plus, there were a lot of people I’ve never met who joined in! I can’t tell you how thrilled I was for this. Correction: am. I’m still excited.

It took a whole day of reading and re-reading to come up with a top three, and let me tell you, it was HARD. After a lot of thought, I believe I’ve found the stories that best utilize the prompts, your creativity, and Christmas cheer.

With that through, let’s give away our prize, shall we?

Julia R

The reason why I loved Julia’s story was that it was unexpected. Most stories with this prompt were between a couple being apart for Christmas (which made me squeal a TON by the way because FEELS), hers was between two ex-best friends who were closer than sisters. And then the little ‘present’ at the end?!? I ADMIT I DID TEAR UP.

Sarah T

This was the very first entry I received and I was enchanted from the start. I loved Sarah’s writing style and how she navigated through the mind of her main character, how everything seemed to be in slow motion in her mind, but the world was traveling at lightspeed, passing her by. Ugh. Too good for my helpless little heart.

SARAH B

I’ve always admired Sarah’s witty dialogue and action sequences but this?? was literal?? poetry??? I just… wow. There’re no words. It’s almost not a story as much as it is a reverie, like a memory of sorts. When you read writing as enchanting as this you sort of lose yourself and that’s exactly what I did. Brava, love, this was absolutely stunning.

AND THAT’S ALL WOW. Thank you again to EVERYONE who submitted. It’s a pleasure and an honor to read your writing. It takes guts to send your writing, your heart and passion, out into the world. So it means the world that you’re willing to share your talents and compete. Thank you soooooo sosososo much!

I will also be taking a break from blogging for a week while I celebrate Christmas with my family. If you’d like to follow my adventures, follow me on Instagram (i’m extremely active and quite the bookstagrammer if i say so myself).

I’ll be returning on the 28th… but what’s December without a little bit of blogmas..? ๐Ÿ™ƒ

THAT’S RIGHT MY FRIENS. From December 28 to January 4, I’ll doing my own, tailor-fit blogmas post marathon. Once a day during this week, I’ll be posting about the New Year, writing, and anything else this strange, strange mind comes up with. And there might be a few suprises? maybe? possibly? Follow me on instagram and maybe you’ll find out sooner, but if not.. stay tuned.

LET’S TALK ABOUT STORIES!!ย What’s the most important aspect to a story, be it a movie, book, or play? Should you focus more on the internal mind of the characters, or talk about the ‘real world’ more often? Come on down to the comments ๐Ÿ’›
