how i write my BLOG POSTS // the inside scoop on how i create my content

Blog posts are not to be taken lightly.

Blog posts are things to put time and effort into. They deserve work, passion, and love. After all, they’re what make or break your blog! Without good content, you’ve got nothing good to ‘sell,’ and therefore no customers. You’re out of business. Womp-waa.

As bloggers, we want to provide our audience with the best stuff they can get their hands on. We strive to make our content the absolute best that it can be with the most efficiency possible.

I try my hardest to give my readers content that they’ll love every week… and I’m going to spill the tea on how I do that! From beginning to end, my process takes a total of three hours throughout the week to end up with a fun, organized post. My process isn’t perfect for everyone, but, for me, it works!

That being said, let’s get started on a new post!

my writing ROLE MODELS // 10 kickbutt authors who are changing my writing

We’ve all got favorites.

Favorite shows, favorite foods, favorite books actually we cant make up our minds on that last one. But we can more or less agree on what makes a great writer. It takes a person with an eye for characters, themes, prose, and passion to write well.

While a lot of aspiring writers already have those qualities, some are more advanced than others. And that’s perfectly okay! Those of us earlier in our journeys have a bounty of writers that have come before us to admire and learn from.

Like many others, I have a group of authors who have been writing inspirations, be it through actual writing characteristics or simply encouragement they’ve given me. Unfortunately, I can’t thank each and every one of these writers — some are millionaires and some are, well, dead — but their work is well-loved by me and others.

Sooo, let’s count down my top 10 writing role models!

I Met Blogging Buddies IRL?! // ft. Chris Pratt, 200 Followers & Your Help?

GUYS. I MET PEOPLE.

chentho

I’m sure other homeschoolers emphasize with my excitement, but these weren’t just normal people. THESE were my internet friends.

And we met in real life. *screeches for all eternity*

Meeting internet friends has been a staple on my bucket list as soon as I got them. Looking back, it’s hard to believe we actually in the same room. Breathing the same air. Talking to each other. Oh my gosh. They’re real.

Are Public Libraries Going EXTINCT?? // Pros & Cons Of Our Favorite Book Stop

I am in love with a place called the library.

Stepping into a library is like entering a new universe. It’s a place where books are respected and revered, where stories and imagination are encouraged. There’s a tense silence in the air that melts away when you open a book and get immersed in its world.

So I was surprised when I learned how few people actually like the library. Apparently, only 19% of Americans read for fun (and that number is dwindling). Is the library becoming extinct with the lack of readers and increase of digital reading? Why should we even have libraries around in 2018??

We’re going to decide together whether libraries are necessary to keep around as we examine the highs and lows of our favorite book temples. I present to you: the pros and cons of public libraries!

Common MISTAKES New Bloggers Make (+ FREE Blogging Milestone Checklist)

They say practice makes perfect, right?

It’s obvious that nobody gets blogging down pat the moment they post their first article. It takes a lot of trial and error to grow a blog from the ground up, and, as with anything, you gotta start somewhere.

That being said, there are a lot of mistakes that are consistent with newer bloggers. After a while, it feels sort of stupid that we even did them in the first place,* but it’s not anything to be embarrassed by. Blogging is definitely a learning process. That’s why we like to help each other out when we can.

So today I’d like to point out a few mistakes new bloggers typically make when they’re getting started and how to turn those flaws into growth!

5 Ways HARRY POTTER Can Make Your Series Magical

Harry Potter. The bestselling book series of all time.

Over 500 million copies of these books have been sold. Every country of the world is home to at least one of its millions of fans. It truly is a gem in modern English literature.

I was absolutely entranced by this series from page one. It’s a beautiful story of a boy growing up and doing what’s right in a world that wants him dead. The movies were a work of art. If you haven’t read the books, I strongly recommend you give them a try. I’ve been converted to a fangirl.

One of my favorite things about Harry Potter is the fact that it’s a series. Seven whole books of magic and adventure and romance and HUFFLEPUFFS WOO!! But, more than that, I enjoy how effortlessly Rowling carries the story from book to book. After some research (aka excuses to re-read the books), I’ve discovered 5 ways to recreate that magic in your own book series!

By the way, this post is 99.999% spoiler free. I hate when people spoil books. They’re bookworm sinners. Subpar bookies. Slytherins.

3 Secrets To The Best School Year Ever™ (How I’m Owning College AND High School)

It’s almost Fall!

We’re so close, I’m already beginning to imagine it… raking leaves in the chilly autumn air. Salted Caramel flavored everything. S’mores and campfires and fuzzy jackets. And that means it’s time for…. a new school year!!!

*distant sobbing*

Yeah, I’m not even going to pretend I like school. I count it as something to be grateful for, sure, but it’s like the United States school system is trying to make us go insane.

I’ve been through this rodeo plenty of years now (tenth grade & dual enrolling in college, wohoo), and I can safely say that I’ve learned a thing or two about how to deal with the pressure without falling prey to a total identity crisis.*

*ok so maybe i have a mini identity crisis every now and again??? just a little one!!
